The Thames Valley Call Divert Scheme aims to raise the awareness of the potential consequences of using a mobile phone while driving.
Each driver will then be able to make educated decisions about how and when to use modern communication technology during a journey.
Backed by the Thames Valley Police and the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership, the Call Divert Scheme provides drivers with the opportunity to take part in an educational Workshop instead of receiving a fixed penalty fine and points on their driving licence.
Drivers can be referred for Call Divert Workshops by Thames Valley Police from 27th February 2007.
If you have recently been stopped and issued with an endorsable Fixed Penalty Notice for a mobile phone offence, please click here to find out 'what happens next'.
